Reuters announced, Play Communications, a mobile operator in Poland, is thinking of selling some of its network structure.
The firm could implement identical moves like other European firms that are considering selling mobile networks as the infrastructure remains appealing to financiers. Play Communications has nearly 15 million mobile subscribers in Poland.
Play is working on a strategic survey of about 8,000 sites, in which half of them are towers, and this could drive to a sale valued at up to $800 million euros or $897.4 million. The play could commence with a formal procedure in early 2021, as per Bloomberg.
Previously this year, Play stated that it was planning to establish a company namely TowerCo – dedicated branch to host current and future passive network foundation.
A source acquainted with this information told Reuters: “Play is at a very early stage of establishing the company, to which sites would be moved…It will take at least until the end of the year to spin off these assets.”
In an email response to Reuter’s questions considering a potential agreement, the company stated “Play is separating a dedicated tower company that will manage and maintain passive network infrastructure.”
